Following a highly successful run at Buddies in Bad Times Cabaret Space in March of 2018 One Step At A Time was brought in by Theatre Collingwood for a sold out run, followed by Neptune Theatre, then the Stratford Festival. There are upcoming bookings we are unable to announce, and the future is bright.
A portion of the proceeds from each performance are currently donated to The Sick Kids Foundation and to ErinOak Kids. When the show is on tour proceeds may be donated to a comparable local charity or facility. The show is appropriate for all ages.

One Step At A Time - Rehearsal

Ezra! You're 5 YEARS OLD today!!! #HappyBirthday my Love <3 **WATCH THIS BOY climb and descend these stairs ALL BY HIMSELF** This is the boy that wasn't supposed to have function below his waist. #God is good.
You are a #CHAMPION. A #LION. And a silly goose.
You've accomplished so many things this year Love, but the biggest for all of us might have been #school! YOU DID IT!
Your #Journey - our journey together, might be partially defined by your #SpinaBifida and #Hydrocephalus, but YOU are not. WE are not. You are a loving, empathetic, and mischievous little boy who loves people unconditionally. We haven't met a person you couldn't make smile. The joy that emanates from you is a gift from God.
You have changed your #family for the better. You have made me better in every single way possible, and I'm certain that this "better me" you helped create is the reason I was able to break through barriers and start booking major #theatre work.
Ezra Courage... You complete us. Me, your mom and your sisters. Your Mom knew all those years ago that our family wasn't finished. I'm so glad I had the open heart to hear her. (Beth made a cake for them to decorate together, as well as some cupcakes!) Happy 5th Birthday One Love.

Big @SickKidsToronto day today as lil man is going in for his #MRI to see what's up with his brain and spine. Praying for good news.
He was good all day until he put the mask on for General Anesthesia. He does not like it. He was crying, so of course I'm singing to him while crying... He needs it though so that he can be still during the imaging process. I hate it but I'm #grateful for the medical technology we have access to, to make sure he's healthy!
I woke him up at 11:30pm last night to feed him pancakes with peanut butter and jam, with warm milk and honey. I wanted to keep that belly full as it's been 15 hours since he's eaten... The girls woke up, so it was a #family affair.
I'm trying to continue my #research on #BIPOC #artist representation in #Canadian #Theatre, but my head ain't right right now... So I'll sit here with my tea until he wakes up... Oh, and see video of my lil #champion singing and signing Beautiful Boy before he goes under.

Happy #FathersDay!
I am standing on these shoulders that came before me. To be the shoulders for who comes after.
Happy Father's Day to my Dad, my father-in-law, and to everyone who has found themselves in this role at some point in their lives. It is NOT an easy #job, and for me, it’s the highest honour and the most important #role I’ve ever had.
My #father has given, gives, and will continue to give of himself until the day he dies. It’s who he is. And we’re incredibly #grateful for his efforts and sacrifices. But a father can’t do everything for you, nor can he protect you from all things. What he can do, is prepare you.
My #Dad is an #immigrant. He is a #Canadian. I am #MadeByImmigrants and I am not ashamed of that. I am so proud of everything my Dad has accomplished because of his #love and hard work, through adversities and struggles. His perseverance and love for his family are what I want to demonstrate and pass on to my #children.
These #picnee dem nah know how good dem got it wit a Granfada like he.
My kids are my world. I’m #blessed to have a wonderful #partner to share this parenting #journey with. She helps me be the best version of me for my babies, and covers my blind spots. This dream is challenging, but we’re here. I’m an #Actor / #Singer / #Dancer AND a father and Beth and I are putting food on the table while managing to pay for the roof. So, my #parents hearts can rest easy knowing their fight wasn't for nothing.
I didn’t know that being a dad would be the best, hardest, most joyous, physically and emotionally draining thing I’d do. But I’m glad I’m here. In this #family. With these #hearts. Standing on these #shoulders that came before me. To be the shoulders for who comes after.

When being called a #racist is more offensive than your people dying at the hands of the #police and #RCMP.
The lesson here? Don't call White people racist. There might be no greater term of offence.

I was 1 of 40 #Canadian #artists commissioned to write a few songs of encouragement for a few strangers who are having a tough go through this #pandemic.
They were nominated by their friends/family through the Desjardins #SendASolo campaign.
There was a 24 hour turn around on the tunes, but I had to get it done in 4-5 hours as I couldn't start writing and recording until AFTER #bedtime! Hopefully the #love was received.
I'm #grateful for the #gig.

I will #invest my #time and #energy in people. All people.
My #family.
Those who struggle alongside me, and far more than me. Those who's struggles seem like joys from my outside perspective.
Those who agree with me, and those who refuse to understand my point of view.
We all gotta eat. We all somebody's baby. We ALL God's children.
Delivering much needed nourishment on behalf of the #Mississauga #FoodBank for those who are needing extra love and care. ***20 points if you can place where this t-shirt is from. *** #DadThings #Privilege #ActorLife #Singer #DanceLife #Theatre #MusicalTheatre #TapDance

#LivingInColour
Ask any of your #melanated friends if, when they were kids, after their 1st/2nd/3rd encounter with #racism, if they ever had the brilliant idea to scrub their #skin harder to get lighter, because they were told it was dirty.

Look at what this boy has accomplished!! He's swinging his leg (right leg for now) all the way back and all the way forward to kick a REAL soccer ball. We can thank #TapDance for this motion.
We try to do it without our walker... but it doesn't go very well.
Big thanks to ErinoakKids for all of our therapies and specifically our #physiotherapy.
He's flyin'. We don't know what he'll be able to accomplish, which is why we fight for a more inclusive "tomorrow". #DadThings #SpinaBifida #Hydrocephalus #DifferentlyAbled #ActorLIfe #DanceLife #Theatre #MusicalTheatre

I am #grateful to have had the opportunity to openly share my experiences and have a dialogue with these wonderful people. I think these are important conversations. Thank you @christopher73wilson and @earthtoryan74 and @offtheleashhfx for facilating. And thank you to @kburth and @sacchafierce for sharing alongside me.
My goal was never to offend anyone. So if you're feeling some type of way, you can always message me, as some already have. But to be crystal clear, I said what I said. I meant what I said. Everything I said was honest. I'm open to further conversations.
I am not done learning, even though my lived experiences are encyclopedias of knowledge, and also heavy baggage that I, and most artists of colour have to carry and manage as to not affect anyone else.
Or maybe they should be affecting others in our field... #ActorLife #DanceLife #Singer #Theatre #MusicalTheatre #WhitePrivilege #BIPOC #SafeSpace #Unity #NormalizeDiversity #Diversity

I stand with my Black brothers and sisters in their protest. #BlackLivesMatter
We are tired of being questioned, of being targeted, of being disbelieved, of having to provide proof to some White people about what our lives are like. #AmplifyMelanatedVoices
Black people are dying in the street by the very hands we pay to protect, and you need further explanation?
Indigenous people are fighting for water, for their livelihood against the very same government who continues to tell us how important they are, and you still can't take our word for it?
Some of you are EXHAUSTING us.
People of Colour, while we all experience #racism, right now, in this moment, we need to not make it ALL about us and focus the energy on supporting Black lives. In North America, we owe a lot of our freedoms to Black activists - don't forget that (and I'm not trying to take away from our own legendary activists). I am so tired.
This is my #family. My beautiful, mixed family. I just don't know why some of you can't see our beauty and our love.
